SN35.24 — Discourse on Abandonment

I will teach you the Dhamma for the abandonment of all. Listen to this.

And what is the Dhamma for the abandonment of all? The eye should be abandoned; forms should be abandoned; eye-consciousness should be abandoned; eye-contact should be abandoned; whatever feeling arises with eye-contact as condition: whether pleasant or painful or neither-painful-nor-pleasant: that too should be abandoned.

The tongue should be abandoned; tastes should be abandoned; tongue-consciousness should be abandoned; tongue-contact should be abandoned; whatever feeling arises with tongue-contact as condition: whether pleasant or painful or neither-painful-nor-pleasant: that too should be abandoned.

The body should be abandoned... The mind should be abandoned; mental phenomena should be abandoned; mind-consciousness should be abandoned; mind-contact should be abandoned; whatever feeling arises with mind-contact as condition: whether pleasant or painful or neither-painful-nor-pleasant: that too should be abandoned. This is the Dhamma for the abandonment of all.
